On the morning of January 22nd, 2024, Carrollton VFD responded along with Stations 30, 50, and 60 for report of a structure fire in Rushmere. Units arrived on scene to find a house at 95% completion with heavy smoke and fire showing which became a total loss. Station 50 crews initiated an interior attack but were called out when the fire began venting through the roof. Once a water supply was established via tankers, master streams were utilized to knock down the bulk of the fire. Also assisting with tankers was Surry and Dendron Fire.
