On 3 October, 2012, at 16:33 hrs. a single alarm was transmitted for companies 10 and 50, for a fire in a residential structure.

Carrollton Volunteer Firefighter was able to use his personal high wheeled vehicle to assist Sheriff Deputies who had become stranded in rushing high water while the deputies were attempting to respond to an emergency call about 9pm August 28th off Tan Road.

Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department responded 1300 Friday 3 August 2012 to a "public assist" call for a tree causing an immediate danger to an occupied residence on Benn's Church Blvd. in Isle of Wight County, Virginia.

Carrollton's Bruce Spady is Monsanto Farmer of the Year 2012                 26 July 2012

Carrollton Fire Chief Joel Acree and President Fred Mitchell receive a check for $2,500.00 from Carrollton farmer Bruce Spady and Monsanto District Sales Representative Jonathan Chilton at the regular monthly business meeting of the Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department at Station-10 on Route-17 on 26 July 2012.
Each year the Monsanto Fund selects a regional farmer to designate a monetary award to a local non-profit agency. The Monsanto Fund is the charitable subsidiary of the Monsanto Company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. This year Carrollton farmer Bruce Spady won the award and designated the all-volunteer Carrollton Fire Department to receive the donation. Carrollton VFD is the only all-volunteer fire/rescue department in southeastern Virginia and serves the Carrollton area of northern Isle of Wight County, Virginia, as well as nearby mutual-aide districts in northern Suffolk and Smithfield. The donation will be used to purchase needed medical and firefighting supplies and equipment to better serve the local community.

10-50F Car Fire                                                                                 03 June 2012

Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department sincerely thanks all of our brothers and sisters in law enforcement and the Isle of Wight County fire/rescue community for their assistance during the MVC and car fire incident Sunday 3 June 2012 in Rescue, Virginia. The Smithfield Police Department, Isle of Wight Sheriff's Deputies, Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department, Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, Virginia State Police, Isle of Wight County Dispatchers and the Tidewater Critical Incident Stress Management Team all responded rapidly and effectively to this "beyond the call of duty" intervention. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident as well as all mutual-aid emergency responders who assisted us during this particularly difficult experience.

Carrollton volunteer firefighters and EMTs responded immediately to a motor vehicle collision Friday, 9 March, 2012, at the intersection of Titus Creek Drive and Smith's Neck Road. The initial dispatch at 1141 reported two vehicles involved including children in one of the cars.

Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched 1856 Sunday 12 February 2012 "automatic aid" to a reported house fire on Scotts Factory Road in the Smithfield VFD first-response district. 911 calls described smoke and flames coming from the rear of the structure.

Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched 0937 Tuesday 7 February 2012 to a reported "flipped oil truck" on Benn's Church Blvd. near Tan Road, Isle of Wight County, Virginia.
Carrollton VFD units Chief-10, Rescue-10 and Squad-10 responded initially with subsequent responses by Tanker-10 and Medic-11. Various 911 callers at the scene reported the driver had extricated himself and fuel was leaking onto the roadway. Carrollton Fire Chief Joel Acree arrived on scene first, assumed incident command, confirmed initial reports, requested air ambulance be placed on standby and asked that Chuckatuck VFD also respond "mutual aid" with Engine-9 and Tanker-9. R-10A.

CVFD responds to three concurrent Advanced Life Support (ALS) Calls           01 February 2012

On Wednesday, 1 February 2012, Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department answered three almost simultaneous Advance Life Support calls within its' first response district. At 0946 Squad-10 and Chief-10 responded to a local supermarket for an unresponsive patient. First ALS unit arrived on scene within four minutes and transport of the patient to the nearest ER began at 1015. At 1020 Carrollton VFD received a "second call" for an ALS patient in a nearby subdivision and Medic-11, Rescue-10 and Chief-10 responded. While the M-11 ALS crew was preparing this patient for transport, a "third call" was received at 1049 dispatching Carrollton VFD for an "obstetrics" patient at a local medical center. Rescue-10 and Chief-10 cleared from the second call to respond as Medic-11 began patient transport from the second scene. With both Carrollton VFD ambulances committed, Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad was requested to respond "automatic aid" to this third ALS call. R-10 and Chief-10 arrived on scene at 1054 to provide first response ALS care followed within a few minutes by the transport ambulance from IWVRS. Both Carrollton units cleared from this scene at 1106 as patient care was transferred to IWVRS ALS crew.
