Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) was dispatched at 8:37 a.m. Tuesday 25 November 2014 to a reported "...accident with injuries..." on Reynolds Drive near Osborne Lane. Isle of Wight Vol. Rescue Squad (IWVRS) ambulance Medic-64 and Isle of Wight Emergency Services (IOWES) first response unit ES-3 responded rapidly from a nearby mutual aid scene and arrived within minutes. CVFD command unit Zone-11 arrived, assumed incident command and advised "...single vehicle vs. tree...heavy damage...occupant critical condition...no entrapment..." Patient stabilization and Immediate medical care were conducted by IWVRS and IOWES technicians on scene. IWVRS ambulance Medic-63 and CVFD ambulance Squad-10 also arrived for additional EMS and manpower support. The patient was carefully removed from the vehicle and secured in M-64 for rapid transport to the closest trauma center. Access to the scene was complicated by a second vehicle that had run off Reynolds Drive and into a ditch about 300 yards north of this location - no injury or damage were reported from this incident. All CVFD, IWVRS and IOWES crews and apparatus were cleared from the scene and available by 9:25 a.m. for further service.
