Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at 5:05 p.m. Sunday 29 June 2014 to a reported "overturned vehicle...unknown injuries" on New Towne Haven Lane in front of Carrollton Area Elementary School. Carrollton VFD transport ambulance Squad-10 and rescue/pumper Rescue-10 responded from Station-10 with volunteer crews, as other volunteers in POVs converged on the scene. First arriving EMT reported "two patients...out of vehicle...no entrapment" and initiated immediate medical trauma care for the two occupants who had extricated themselves from the upside down vehicle. R-10 arrived to provide scene protection and additional manpower along with two Isle of Wight Sheriff's Deputies for investigation and reporting procedures. Both patients refused transport to the nearest ED against the medical advice of the senior EMS technician present. S-10 crew remained until the vehicle occupants were securely in the care of adult family members and the R-10 crew remained to assist with vehicle recovery operations. All Carrollton VFD and personnel were made available for further service by 5:43 p.m. and returned to quarters.
