Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at 7:24 a.m. Thursday 26 June 2014 to a reported "three vehicle collision...Carrollton Blvd. ...front of Racetrack." Carrollton VFD transport ambulances Squad-10 and Medic-11 responded along with rescue ladder truck Quint-10 for scene protection. Rushmere VFD volunteer 303 happened on scene first and advised "3 possible patients...heavy damage to two vehicles" and initiated patient care in accordance with "Good Samaritan" protocols. Carrollton volunteer and Isle of Wight Emergency Services EMTs arrived and provided immediate trauma care. All three patients were secured on backboards and transported to the nearest Emergency Trauma Center. Virginia State Police and Isle of Wight Sheriff's Deputies arrived to begin reporting, recording and traffic control procedures. Q-10 and volunteer crew remained on scene to block traffic while clean-up and vehicle recovery operations continued. All Carrollton units were available for further service by 8:52 a.m. and returned to quarters.
