Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched 11:29 a.m. Tuesday 15 April 2014 to a reported "Car flipped...driver ejected" on Titus Creek Drive in Carrollton near the Titus Creek Bridge. Carrollton VFD units Squad-10, Rescue-10, Zone-10 and Chief-10 responded immediately. First unit on scene reported subject "conscious and breathing" and arriving Isle of Wight Emergency Services ALS technician requested air ambulance launch if available. S-10 and R-10 arrived to continue trauma care protocols and the patient was placed in S-10 when Nightingale Air Ambulance reported unavailability due to adverse weather. Isle of Wight Sheriff's Deputy and additional Carrollton VFD volunteers arrived to assist and the patient was transported to the nearest emergency trauma center. Witnesses stated the vehicle had "flipped twice" leaving a 100 yard trail of debris. R-10 crew and other volunteers remained on scene to assist with clean-up and traffic control under the direction of law enforcement. All Carrollton VFD units were cleared by 12:39 p.m.
