Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched 1704 Wednesday 6 March 2013 to a reported motor vehicle collision on Nike Park Road near the intersection with Titus Creek Drive. IOW Central Dispatch advised "one person unable to exit vehicle and possible vehicle fire" per 911 caller on scene. Carrollton VFD units Squad-10, Rescue-10, Zone-11 and Quint-10 responded immediately. First arriving unit reported "two vehicles with heavy damage and one patient requiring extrication." First arriving Carrollton officer assumed incident command, reported "head-on collision with no entrapment" and directed arriving S-10 and R-10 crews who immediately began emergency patient care and extrication operations. The uninjured occupants of the second vehicle were provided shelter from the cold and driving rain inside a volunteer's POV and Carrollton volunteer crews stabilized both vehicles by disconnecting the electrical systems. One patient with non-life threatening injuries was transported quickly to the nearest ED trauma center and the Q-10 crew remained on scene to assist law enforcement. The R-10 crew departed this scene at 1723 to respond to a second call on Smith's Neck Road and was joined by a volunteer crew on Medic-11 that met them on scene. Command at the Nike Park Road scene was terminated 1737 and all Carrollton units returned to quarters. Nike Park road was reopened to traffic at 1808.
