Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched 1232 Monday 3 Dec. 2012 to a reported brush fire on Titus Creek Drive in Carrollton. Engine-10 and Brush-10 responded immediately. Lt. M. Pierce was first on scene, took command and reported a wind-driven grass fire in the field adjacent to Bay Harbor Lane. Carrollton VFD crews surrounded the flames and began the fire attack from both directions to prevent the fire spreading to nearby residential and wood line exposures. Property owner Luther Jenkins assisted fire suppression operations with 200 feet of garden hose from his nearby residence. Overhaul operations continued until 1320 when all Carrollton units were cleared from the scene and returned to quarters to clean equipment and restock water supplies.
