Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched 1645 Wednesday 18 January 2012 to a reported two vehicle collision near the Fulgham Bridge on Nike Park Road. Carrollton VFD units Rescue-10, Quint-10, Squad-10, Car-10 and Zone-10 responded initially with subsequent responses by Medic-11 and Zone-11. First arriving unit confirmed initial dispatch information, reported one possible ALS patient and the correct location of the MVC being at the west end of the bridge in Station-50 and 60's primary response district but that Station-10 units should continue since they were already en route. IWVRS unit Medic-64 arrived on scene consequent to being already in the vicinity on another mission, assisted with initial patient assessment and subsequently cleared upon arrival of S-10. R-10 assumed scene protection operations west along Nike Park Road and Q-10 was assigned traffic control duties at the Titus Creek Drive intersection. The driver of the silver vehicle had no complaints and refused care and transport while EMTs assessed and cared for the driver of the black vehicle in accordance with ruling EMS protocols. One BLS trauma patient was transported in M-11 to the nearest available hospital ER. Nike Park road was closed in both directions while VSP units investigated and a local towing company removed the two vehicles. All Carrollton units were clear and available by 1901.
